Queer Sangha meetings are appropriate for people of any and all backgrounds, regardless of how long you have been practicing meditation and whether or not you consider yourself Buddhist.
Each meeting starts with simple and clear meditation instruction and practice. We then have a period of dharma sharing where everyone has an opportunity to share their experience with their meditation practice.
We then offer a dharma talk followed by an interactive and experiential exercise that enables members to both directly connect to the topic and also to connect with other members through a structured dialogue practice called a dyad.
We currently meet at three locations:
The Interdependence Project, the New York Insight Meditation Center, and the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender Community Center.
